Spectator Guidelines

IMPORTANT TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES

Thank you for your patience as we work to preserve the safety of all our guests. Before you leave your car, please review policies below. All attendees of the Farmers Insurance Open will walk through magnetometers and are subject to search prior to entering the Tournament. Searches will be conducted either prior to boarding the shuttles or at the entrance gates.

AT THE GATES

1. Empty your pockets. Everything must be out!
2. For your safety and others, pass through magnetometers.

BAGS TO LEAVE IN THE CAR

  • No prohibited items will be permitted on any shuttle
  • No bags larger than a small purse 6×6 including carrying cases, backpacks, camera bags or chair bags (CLICK HERE for more info)
  • No clear plastic, vinyl, or any other carry items larger than 12x6x12
  • No plastic, metal or glass cups, cans of any kind except for medical or infant needs
  • No backpacks
  • No chair bags
  • No lawn or oversized chairs
  • No seat cushions
  • No pets except for service animals
  • No bicycles
  • No video cameras at any time
  • No cameras permitted after Wednesday
  • No radios, televisions, or other electronic noise producing items
  • No whistles, horns or noise makers
  • No posters, signs, or banners
  • No coolers of any kind
  • No knives, firearms, or weapons of any nature
  • No fireworks
  • No illegal substances
  • No laser pointers
  • No poles or rods
  • No computers or laptops
  • No alcoholic beverages may enter or leave the Tournament
  • No outside food or beverage
  • No other items deemed unlawful or dangerous by the PGA TOUR/Tournament Security Officials
  • NEW: No selfie-sticks

PERMITTED BAGS

  • Umbrellas without sleeve  
  • Opaque bags not exceeding 6×6
  • Clear plastic, vinyl or other carry items not exceeding 12x6x12
  • A one-gallon clear resealable plastic bag
  • Phones, tablets, and PDAs – MUST be on Silent mode and adhere to TOUR’s Mobile Device Policy (see below)
  • Still camera with lens smaller than 6 inches; no case (Wednesday only)
  • Collapsible chairs, without chair bags
  • Medically necessary supplies, strollers, small diaper bags, plastic baby bottles, and other necessary baby supplies (infant must be with carrier) – items subject to search
  • Binoculars without binocular case

MOBILE DEVICE POLICY

Mobile devices are allowed on-course. So go out and snap some photos of your favorite players (flash & sound off!)!  😁📱

Please review the following:

  • Devices must be on silent at all times; flash may not be used. 
  • Devices may be used to capture video, audio and photos (content) in all areas throughout tournament week. 
  • Content may be used for personal purposes (e.g., personal social media); no commercial use. 
  • No live streaming or real-time coverage (e.g., no shot-by-shot coverage). 
  • Data use (e.g., texting) is permitted in all areas throughout tournament week.  
  • Phone calls are allowed only in designated areas.
  • Please be respectful of play and do not interfere with players, caddies or media.
  • All posted signage and instructions from tournament staff must be observed.
  • Failure to comply with this policy may result in the revocation of your ticket.

If you’re new to golf or even if you’re not, here are some guidelines to ensure an enjoyable, fun, and safe experience for you and your fellow spectators.

  • Stay behind the gallery ropes and follow the marshal’s directions at all times
  • Do not cross fairways except at designated crosswalk areas
  • Always look both ways before crossing a cart path
  • Be considerate of others and kneel or sit if you find yourself in the front row of the gallery
  • Walk carefully, never run
  • Wear comfortable shoes
  • Remain silent through each shot and do not move until all players in the group have played or holed out
  • Children under 12 should be kept at a safe distance while play is in progress. Parents should take extra precautionary measures when choosing a viewing location
  • Watch the tournament “Parade Style” by picking a spot and watching the field pass by or “Cross-Country Style” by following a particular player or group around the course
  • In the event of an emergency, contact any uniformed tournament Marshal or San Diego police personnel in order to expedite medical assistance
  • Our fans have a reputation of being respectful. Along with a world-class golf course, this respect is why players love San Diego. Help preserve this reputation and keep the atmosphere fun and appropriate for fans of all ages

** Failure to follow the direction of San Diego Police Department, Tournament security guards, gallery marshals, or Tournament officials may result in ejection from the grounds or revocation of your tickets without refund. Please observe the rules & regulations noted above.
