APGA Tour Farmers Insurance® Invitational
Established in 2010, the Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) Tour is an inclusive non-profit organization with the mission to prepare African Americans and other minority golfers to compete and win at the highest level of professional golf, both on tour and in the golf industry. This is accomplished through professional tournaments, career development and mentoring sessions.
The fifth annual APGA Tour Farmers Insurance Invitational was, again, held at Torrey Pines Golf Course in conjunction with the PGA TOUR’s Farmers Insurance Open®. The event was a part of Farmers® ongoing commitment to the APGA Tour and its work to grow diversity in golf. Helping to remove the financial burden associated with the game and providing playing opportunities are top priorities for both Farmers and the APGA. The organizations are also focused on ensuring players have access to the tools and support they need, allowing them to better focus on their career path and development in the game.
Event Details
- Dates: January 27 and 28, 2024
- Location: Torrey Pines Golf Course, North and South Course
- 2024 Results: Michael Herrera came out on top with a one-stroke victory to finish with a 74 on Round 2 after a stellar opening-round 72 on day one, claiming his fourth career APGA Tour win. Only one year after playing in the PGA TOUR’s Farmers Insurance Open on a sponsor exemption. In addition to the $30,000 winner’s check, Herrera will have all expenses associated with PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry covered by Farmers Insurance and the APGA Tour in 2024.

Tournament Fact Sheet
The APGA Tour Farmers Insurance brings together 18 APGA Tour players to compete for a $100,000 purse on the North and South Courses at Torrey Pines Golf Course. The field consists of players who qualify throughout the previous year’s APGA Tour season via the Lexus Cup points list, the Farmers Insurance Fall Series standings, the APGA Collegiate Rankings, the APGA Cisco Junior Series and committee exemptions. The final round of the season-opening APGA Tour event is televised nationally on Golf Channel to showcase the APGA on a PGA TOUR venue following the conclusion of the Farmers Insurance Open.
