PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLORIDA – The Farmers Insurance Open (San Diego, California) was honored by the PGA TOUR at the TOUR’s Tournament Meetings on December 7.
The Farmers Insurance Open earned an award for “Best Onsite Staging” during the 2017 tournament at Torrey Pines Golf Course, while Danny Waite, Century Club Senior Partnerships Representative, was named “Salesperson of the Year” by the TOUR.

Despite severe advance weather challenges, the 2017 Farmers Insurance Open created an outstanding onsite staging plan that matched the scenic backdrop Torrey Pines provides. The onsite presentation remained clean and consistent throughout the entire property and the team invested extra care into many areas, ensuring access and service for spectators was at the highest level. The staff even constructed a new carpeted floor for the Fan Village the weekend prior to tournament week.
In addition to the reactionary improvements made due to unforeseen weather issues, the Farmers Insurance Open continued to set the bar for best practices, improving the onsite amenities for spectators like the highly-successful Uber Lot and The Mobility Shuttle.
The PGA TOUR also recognized Danny Waite as “Salesperson of the Year.” Waite accomplished and exceeded many of his goals leading up to the event, surpassing his year-over-year renewal goal (104%) and his year-over-year new business goal (182%) in the 2017 sales cycle. In addition, more than $50,000 of incremental non-traditional revenue that he generated was dedicated to the Patriots Outpost.
The 2018 Farmers Insurance Open, won this year by Jon Rahm, will be held January 25-28 at Torrey Pines.
