2007 SPRING SCORE CARD
Barona Creek Golf Club to Host the 2007 Nationwide Tour Championship
October 27 - November 4
The PGA TOUR will be making an unprecedented two stops in San Diego this year. Following the 2007 Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course this past January, the acclaimed Barona Creek Golf Club will be the host site for the 2007 Nationwide Tour Championship set for October 27-November 4.
The internationally-televised event features the top 60 players on the Official Money List who compete for 25 PGA TOUR playing cards over the four-day event. Those 60 players accumulate dollars at Nationwide Tour events throughout the year to reach the final dramatic championship.

The Nationwide Tour has been the starting place for so many of today's PGA TOUR stars since its inception, including standouts such as Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, John Daly, Chris DiMarco, David Toms and 2007 Masters champion Zach Johnson. In all, past Nationwide Tour players have won over 200 PGA TOUR titles, including 11 major championships.
As the PGA TOUR's proving ground, the Nationwide Tour identifies those select players whose games are ready to compete and win against the world's best. The essence of the Nationwide Tour comes down to the 25 PGA TOUR cards that are at stake. The cards and the players moving in and out of those top 25 positions on the money list is pure sports drama that unites our players, tournaments and fans.
Nationally-regarded and ranked, Barona Creek Golf Club will be an exciting test for the top professional players. In 2005, Barona Creek Golf Club was rated as the number five golf course in California, behind landmark properties Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, Pasatiempo and Rustic Canyon. In addition, Barona Creek was the only San Diego golf property to be recognized in Golfweek Magazine's Top 100 Modern Golf Course list based on courses that opened after 1960.
"There isn't anything more exciting than watching top professional golfers compete in their ultimate quest to join the PGA TOUR," said Tim Finchem, Commissioner of the PGA TOUR. "Golf rewards great individual effort and you won't find a better setting to witness the heroic efforts of talented players than at the Barona Creek Golf Club in San Diego. As in the past, I'm quite sure these 25 spots won't be decided upon until the last ball is putted on the Sunday afternoon of the championship."
"The Nationwide Tour Championship brings another major golf event to the San Diego region and we are looking forward to working with the PGA TOUR and Barona Creek on producing an outstanding and climactic event," said Tom Wilson, Executive Director of the Century Club. "The quality of the players in this season ending event will be something golf enthusiasts in the San Diego area will want to come see. We anticipate the same kind of interest and support in this event as we have experienced with the Buick Invitational. And, as an added benefit, this championship will also generate additional dollars to local San Diego charities."
Thanks to the efforts of players, sponsors, fans and volunteers, the PGA TOUR and its tournaments give back to over 2,000 local charities every year and in 2006 surpassed $1.1 billion in charitable contributions. The net proceeds from this week's Nationwide Tour event support charities in your community 52 weeks a year.
