Bronson C. Jacoway, Jr. Elected President


Bronson Jacoway The Century Club of San Diego recently announced the election of Bronson C. Jacoway, Jr. as President and General Chairman for the 2009 Buick Invitational.

The Century Club has organized and staged the long running PGA TOUR golf tournament in San Diego for the past forty seven years. The 2009 Buick Invitational will be Buick’s eighteenth consecutive year as title sponsor and “we have been delighted to have the Buick Motor Division of General Motors as our partner”, says Jacoway.

Mr. Jacoway was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and attended Little Rock Central High School. He graduated from Southern Methodist University and upon doing so reported to Officer Candidate School at Quantico, Virginia, to become a Marine Officer. After six years of military service, which included a tour in Vietnam, Mr. Jacoway left the Marine Corps with the rank of Captain.

He came to San Diego in 1968 with his wife, Linda, and joined the Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. Over the years this company morphed into CIGNA Financial Advisors and most recently to Lincoln Financial Advisors. Mr. Jacoway enjoys an active financial planning practice with Lincoln.

Mr. Jacoway has served on numerous boards over the years to include: The Rancho Santa Fe National Bank Board, Past President of Ducks Unlimited, Child Abuse Prevention Foundation Board, the Marine Corp Recruit Depot Historical Society Board and the San Dieguito Boys and Girls Club Executive Board.

He lives in Carlsbad with his wife Linda and has two grown children and two grandchildren.
