Tom Monson Elected President
Tom Monson has been an active member of the Century Club since 1995 and is the President and General Chairman of the 2012 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
He has enjoyed a distinguished legal career in San Diego over the past 35 years. He is the senior partner at the law firm of Miller, Monson, Peshel, Polacek & Hoshaw. He began clerking at the firm as a second year law student at California Western School of Law. He served as the Chairman of the ERISA/Employee Benefits Litigation Group for the Association of Trial Lawyers of America from 1991 to 2002. He has received the Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award from the San Diego Trial Lawyers Association and a Top Attorney Award from the San Diego Daily Transcript. He specializes in ERISA litigation and trust and estates litigation.
Mr. Monson is a long time resident of San Diego. He lives with his wife, Pam, and their two high school age children in Rancho Bernardo. Mr. Monson is a member of Bernardo Heights Country Club and Bear Creek Golf Club. He served as a Chairman of the Admissions & Spectator Information Committee for the 2008 U. S. Open at Torrey Pines. He has also provided legal guidance to various country clubs in San Diego county. He has been active in supporting many community organizations such as the Palomar College Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Boy Scouts of America and Pro Kids Golf Academy.
